I'm not the only one who have not received the certificate of employment yet, I heard. Seems to be that HR (human resources) are pretty busy to write all certificates promptly. There are some 1000 people from Finland (and 17 000 globally) who were "sacked" thus I don't blame them.
Eventually not all people were sacked: we were under a threat of unmployment and we had an option to resign ourselves and get some extra benefits by doing so. I don't have any numbers of how many eventually resigned, but would think it to be high. I decided to resign myself and I dont regret, not yet and not tomorrow.

Day 11
I did not go to the tax office yesterday, and I did not complete any of those tasks a,b,c.
But today I was motivated and managed to do the point a) tax office. And as a result, my tax % is not 52.5 anymore, but 40% for rest of the year, and the compensation paid by the company -next month- is taxed on that level. Jihuu, the tax authorities does not take half of my money anymore, aren't they so nice and lovely!
And Mr. Rutanen: today I had a round of golf and that's what I'm intend to do more from now on, although I must say that I haven't had - and more likely wont have- too much time for it lately.. should I start working again ?... vitsi vitsi..

Day 10
There are couple of things which I need to get done during the next couple of days, or even today. But I feel a bit tired this morning so let see.
a) I need to run to tax office and get a new tax certificate. I have not yet received my final salary yet which will be a bit bigger than the basic monthly salary and needs a new tax card, otherwise it's taxed with 53% and that's a bit too much.
b) Labour force boreau, they want some more proof that I'm not working anymore (?).
c) I have not received my employment certificate yet. Actually I got certificate from England where I worked 7 years, but not in Finland for 10 years period. It's a same company in guestion, just a different country. So got to call them up and ask again.

The relaxing midsummer is over, and funny enough there was a lot of laught me being unemployed among my friends :). Everything what I did was under "unemployed" tag. Well, I agree, it's fun now, but how long..

Day 6
Right, it's a eve of a mid summer eve and time to relax for next three days. Actually I realize that I can "relax" quite a bit longer this year. It's a first time to have more than just normal 4 weeks holiday in a summer since I started my career (like we all are used to have). This time it could be 2 months or even 6 months break. The latter is more likely to happen as I'm not seriously planning to start a new job during this year 2012 anymore. There are couple of reason why not, one being I have a chance to take it easy now, so why wouldn't I ? I still should start looking new positions pretty soon and eventually apply if something interesting occurs.
Last night I updated my CV (Ansioluettelo) for both Finnish and Finglish (English with finnish flavour :) ). I aslo updated my profile in LinkedIn. I have heard that LinkedIn is the big player for finding a new job as many professionals contact each other there, including bigger and smaller enterprises like IBM, HP and Nokia (although they don't have any jobs available, surprise). Even Tutkimustoimisto Puosi is visible there. So, I'm kind of ready to play I-tell-who-I-am-and-you-give-me-some-work game.. but not just yet.
Anyway, we (= my girl friend and my two teenagers ) are lucky to be able to spend our mid summer time in a beatiful island owned by my dear friend. We got a big group of friends there and it's going to be smashing time !
I'll try to share couple of updates during next days, but not sure what's the coverages there for mobiles and data networks.

Day 5
Yep, the reality starts here: the weather looks dull and it's almighty 12 degrees out here at home.
I will go on with this blog until I have found a new job. If I hit the 200 days mark, I have failed and the plan B comes into the effect ( what plan b?, I dont have a plan b ... not yet at least).
The requirements for the new job are in line with a) must be more motivating and interesting than my previous one b) less than 60 min away, I'm fed up with travelling. No more requitements at this stage, lets see what is the situation in couple of months time.

Day 2
Sunday 17th of June.
Second day as an unemployed was spent on the sea in a nice boat. It was 33 degrees and barely no wind at all. I am not really a sailor type of person at all, but today I swam in the middle of the sea and also towards caves in high tides. It was sooo cool and fun.

This is my last day at work. I think it's better to spend the day on the beach drinking margarita, don't you agree?
